------------------
If you reached this site from a link on another site, you can probably blame me.
My goal is to present stuff I have found that has enabled me to enjoy the computer
experience far more than just using the computer as a tool.
------------------
But first...
My wife and I serve this little cutie:
------------------
I use Linux based distros only, setup as read-only and loaded into ram.
My daily driver is PorteuX, a Porteus fork on it's own partition.
The startup only loads minimum software modules to achieve basic functionality.
All other modules can be loaded on demand.
------------------
I also utilise Appimages and other "portable standalone" software.
------------------
On their own partitions are MX, Puppy Slacko and TinyCore.
PorteuX, Puppy Slacko and TinyCore are modular systems while MX relies on one file.
------------------
Grub handles all OS booting. It came with MX. Once I got a handle on it,
changing the grub.cfg file became the easiest way for me to control the boot process.
------------------
There are also Plop and Grub File Manager on the 1 GiB boot partition.
Coupled with the UEFI menu, enabling multi-boot from a variety of sources is easy.
